Pollock inspires East Fife rout

Jamie Pollock scored a second-half brace as East Fife beat Stranraer 6-2 to record their first win of the season.

East Fife midfielder Robert Barr put the visitors in front in the 23rd minute when he slotted home from close range after good work from David Muir to set him up.

Paul McManus made it 2-0 when he poked the ball past Stranraer keeper Russell Cadwell from six yards.

Gareth Wardlaw added a third from six yards in the 42nd minute before Stranraer's Ryan Borris headed home two minutes later to make it 3-1 going into the break.

Pollock found the top corner in the 57th minute to make it 4-1 before adding his second nine minutes later with a superb drive from the edge of the area.

Wardlaw struck past Cadwell once more in the 71st minute to make it 6-1 before Craig Malcolm drilled home a consolation goal in the 78th minute.
