East Fife ended the season on a high note with a comfortable victory over Montrose.

East Fife took the lead after three minutes when John Bradford crossed from the right and Kerr Dodds forced the ball home from close range.

Montrose hit back and two minutes later Calum Watson sent a screamer just wide of the post.

After 13 minutes East Fife's Craig Smart crossed for Dodds, and his first time effort was just kept out by Sandy Wood. Then Greig Henslee had a drive beaten out by Fife keeper John Dodds.

Montrose continued to attack, and Watson had a shot blocked. Then on 40 minutes an overhead kick from Steven Kerrigan dipped just wide of the post.

Two minutes later Montrose's Steven Kerrigan knocked the ball down and Greig Henslee had a drive turned away.

A minute from the break Kerrigan laid the ball to Steven McManus, but his shot was saved. Then on the whistle a shot on the turn from McManus was again saved by Dodds.

After 52 minutes Greig Henslee broke clear for Montrose and shot wide under pressure.

It was East Fife who added a second after 60 minutes when John Bradford scored with a shot on the turn. Montrose were unlucky three minutes later when Watson shot against the post.

Then it was East Fife's turn to hit the woodwork when Craig Smart headed against the post from a Dodds cross.

After 83 minutes East Fife had Andy Campbell sent off for a last-man challenge on Martyn Fotheringham. A penalty was awarded, but Gary Middleton hammered the ball well wide from the spot.
