A late winner from John Martin grabbed East Fife's first win of the season after they fought back twice at home to Montrose. The on-loan Raith Rovers player broke into the box after 90 minutes to coolly slot the ball home after his side had twice gone behind to the Gable Endies.

A piece of magic from Montrose's Martyn Fotheringham broke the deadlock after 64 minutes when he curled a superb free-kick into the bottom corner from 30 yards.

Former Montrose man Craig Smart equalised after 69 minutes when he fired home a Paul Hampshire centre from six yards.

Fotheringham then restored the visitors lead after 73 minutes when he cut through the Fife defence and fired home an angled shot off the far post.

Fife restored parity three minutes from the death when Greig McDonald stooped to head home Martin's pin point delivery. Martin then grabbed the points with his superb late finish.
