Donald at the double for Ayr
Michael Donald scored twice as Ayr bounced back from two successive defeats with a convincing 4-1 win at East Fife, who stay rooted to the bottom of the Scottish League One table.
Donald opened the scoring for Ayr with a crisp left-footed finish in the 29th minute and Scott McLaughlin set up Michael Moffat, who doubled the visitors' advantage seven minutes later.
The Fifers hit back before half-time when Liam Buchanan picked himself up after being fouled in the area by Ayr defender Martyn Campbell to convert the subsequent penalty.
But Ayr striker Kevin Kyle sent over a pin-point cross for midfielder McLaughlin to head home the visitors' third goal in the 53rd minute and Donald converted an assist from Craig Malcolm in the last minute to secure his side's first win in eight matches.
