East Fife 0 Gretna 2
The champange is on ice but Gretna have all but won the championship after a comfortable win.
This victory means Gretna are now 15 points ahead with five games left. Goal-king Kenny Deuchar has hit two-hat-tricks this season and should have netted in the first minute. A cross found him at the back post but he nodded wide when easier to score.
A win for Gretna was always on the cards as it was one-way traffic and East Fife played with just one up front.
Gretna's James McQuilken shot wide in the tenth minute after a clever back-heel from David Bingham set him up. Ryan McGuffie then had a header cleared off the line before Gretna went ahead after 24 minutes. Gavin Skelton's cross was met by Chris Innes, who sent a thumping header into the net
East Fife's Steven Nicholas wasn't far away with a chipped shot, but Gretna threatened again when Ryan Baldacchino hit the post after 40 minutes.
Brian Fairbairn gave East Fife some hope with a free-kick which forced David Mathieson to tip the ball over the bar.
Gretna had the ball in the net after 58 minutes but the linesman flagged Deuchar's effort offside. Skelton made the points safe two minutes later, however, after Deuchar's cross allowed him to hammer home from close range.
East Fife's John McCafferty made a great save to deny Bingham but Gretna were in control and are set to party next week after the home match against Stenhousemuir.
