East Fife 0-3 Brechin- Match Report

Brechin hit Fifers for three

Brechin's late flurry condemned East Fife to a relegation play-off against Peterhead as the Hedgemen cruised to a 3-0 win at the Bayview Stadium.

Brechin had the better of the brief opening chances, Calum Antell tipping over Alex Pursehouse's long-range effort after 18 minutes.

East Fife managed to come back into what was a slow moving game, Scott McBride's header forcing a comfortable save from Michael Andrews after 40 minutes.

David McKenna had a chance to put Brechin ahead after 61 minutes. Greg Campbell's long-range strike was blocked by Steven Campbell and the rebound fell to McKenna, whose left-footed strike was saved by Antell.

Brechin finally managed to break the deadlock after 69 minutes when McKenna fired home Garry Brady's cross.

The Hedgemen doubled their lead 10 minutes later when Ryan Stewart's cross from the left was met by Jonathan Brown in the centre of the box and he rifled home past Antell.

The substitute added a third for Brechin on 84 minutes, drilling a right-footed effort into the top corner from the edge of the box.
