East Fife V Morton at Bayview Stadium - Match Preview

Dutot on parade for Fifers

East Fife will include new French defender Alexis Dutot in their line-up against Morton at New Bayview in the first round of the Scottish Communities League Cup

The Fifers received international clearance for Dutot this week, but Emmanuel Semedo is still ineligible.

Gary Thom is suspended so youngster Ross Brown has been brought in from the youth squad as cover.

Manager Willie Aitchison, wary of a backlash from their visitors, said: "Morton's defeat from Annan could well work against us as they will be out to prove that was a one-off.

"They will come out all guns blazing and we need to ride that storm, but if we work hard we can do that and then look to impose ourselves on the game."

Morton welcome skipper Mark McLaughlin back from a jaw injury as they look to put their 1-0 Ramsdens Cup defeat to Annan behind them.

David O'Brien is doubtful with a thigh knock with manager Allan Moore wants his new players to show they have learned their lessons about the Scottish game.

Moore said: "We had a lot of new boys in the side last week and the pace of the game took some of them by surprise.

"We had warned them that would be the case and hopefully they have now taken it on board.

"Another thing we have to do better is take chances."
