East Fife V Arbroath at Bayview Stadium - Match Preview

Durie boost for East Fife

East Fife welcome defender Scott Durie back from a ban as they look to clock up their first win in eight games agaimst Arbroath.

Stevie Campbell will again miss out through an ankle knock and a lack of match practice following illness keeps Gareth Wardlaw out with New Bayview manager Billy Brown convinced he knows what his side must do to start winning games.

Brown said: "Our biggest problem is that we give away goals very cheaply, in fact teams have not had to work hard to score against us.

"If we can stiffen up at the back that will give us confidence that we can attack teams and win games.

"We can still make the promotion play-offs if we can put a run of wins together, starting against Arbroath."

Arbroath will be without midfielder Brian Kerr as they travel looking for the win that will boost a flagging promotion play-off bid.

Striker Steven Doris misses out with a hamstring problem and Lee Sibanda is rated as having a 50-50 chance of playing due to a similar problem.

Player-manager Paul Sheerin, whose side have won just once in five games, said: "We have to start winning again soon as the race for the play-off places has become incredibly tight.

"We don't have a good record there and they need the points to get away from relegation issues so it would be a fantastic time to pick up three points for a number of reasons."
