Arbroath V East Fife at Gayfield Park - Match Preview

Erwin gives Red Lichties a boost

Arbroath will be without injured pair Ricky Little and Connor Birse for their home game against East Fife.

Little has undergone an operation on his broken foot, while Birse is sidelined with a knee injury.

The Red Lichties have on-loan pair Bradley Donaldson and Lee Erwin available after they missed out on last Saturday's William Hill Scottish Cup defeat to Brechin as their parent clubs did not want them cup-tied.

Player/manager Paul Sheerin said: "Lee was missed last Saturday as we had chances and failed to score.

"However we have him for this game and that could be crucial as there is very little between the teams."

East Fife are without suspended skipper Craig Johnstone and a late decision will be made on Ross Brown, who was stretchered off with a head knock against Forfar last weekend.

Christian Nade remains unavailable as international transfer clearance from his last club in Thailand has not yet been received.

Manager Willie Aitchison is looking for his men to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat from the Loons.

Aitchison said: "We played a lot of good football, but did not get the goals that we deserved.

"Hopefully we can play to the same standard against Arbroath, but put the ball in the back of the net."
